The Pokéball in the middle triggers a menu, where you can open your Pokédex, battle, shop, view your Pokemon and any additional items. On the bottom left corner of the screen, you will see your username and avatars of you and your buddy Pokémon (who will find Candy throughout the game). Once you're done setting up your character, you will see yourself on a map, surrounded by some Pokémon.
